Fur is one of the most controversial topics in the fashion industry. From PETA throwing red paint on coats to releasing animals, the anti-fur movement is huge and I agree with it.
Fur is a cruel industry that raises innocent animals to be slaughtered for what they were born with. Keep in mind that I am also vegetarian, because I do not agree with the meat industry or the negative impacts it has on the environment.

Because of animal rights activists and other celebrities, designers have stopped using real fur in many of their designs. Instead, many designers are now using "faux fur" otherwise known as manufactured fur. Although this may be worse for the environment, it keeps animals out of the picture.
Overall, my opinion on fur vs. faux is that we should limit our usage of fur in general. Manufactured fur is not good for the environment and real fur is super inhumane. If you really think about it, none of us really need fur in our lives, except for people who live in crazy climates like Alaska. My advice would be, take a second to think about where your clothes come from before you buy them.
